Many Feared Dead As Twin Explosions Rock Kano

Reports reaching thatnaija have it that palm centre, a popular mobile phone market in Kano, has been rocked by multiple explosions.

According to feelers from the ancient city, three people have been confirmed dead in the mayhem which was said to have been perpetrated by teenage suicide bombers.

This is coming barely 24 hours after over 30 people were confirmed dead in an explosion that rocked Yola, the Adamawa state capital.
Reports have it that security operatives have arrived the scene of the popular market and have cordoned off the area as residents are still in panic following the new development.
Exactly a year ago, there was also a report of the populous town being rocked by a bomb blast, also inside a market.

Arsenal Transfer News: Big offer for Man Utd target, striker update, agent stuns Chelsea

Arsenal sent out their head scout to run the rule over Jorginho.
The Napoli star has found himself linked with a move to Manchester United and Liverpool too, with both clubs believed to be considering tabling offers in January.
But the Gunners have been told they must make a big offer to stand a chance of landing the 23-year-old.
“The priority is getting a call-up for the [Italy] national team, then there’s the January transfer market,” Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos told Radio CRC.
“If Napoli receive an irrefutable offer for Jorginho in January then it’s normal that we’d make our assessments.”

Joel Campbell does not want to leave Arsenal and will ‘keep fighting’ for his dream at the Emirates, despite rumours of a move to Galatasaray.

The 23-year-old has been thrown into Arsenal’s starting line-ups after injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott and has managed to open his account for the club against Swansea.
Reports on Monday suggested the Turkish giants were plotting a January move for the Costa Rica international but Campbell says he will keep fighting to hold onto his starting spot.
“No [I didn’t want to move],” he told IBTimes UK. “I’m here at Arsenal, I am very happy.
“I keep fighting for my dream and I think I still have a long-term future here.
“Obviously a player always wants to play but in a team which has so many quality players like Arsenal, you need to be patient and taking the chance when it arrives.
“I’m still working and trying to seize the opportunities that the boss is giving me. Every opportunity is invaluable to me and I am trying to give my best.”

MRI Scan Is Not Reliable - Garba Lawal

Nigeria Ex-international, Garba Lawal has faulted the MRI scan which was used to carry out the real age investigation for the U17 Golden Eaglets.
He told naij.com shortly after the team won the FIFA U17 world cup that the machine cannot be trusted.

Garba Lawal
The 41-year-old 1996 Olympics gold medalist said he knew the team would win the tournament and retain the trophy which was later won back to back:
“They tried I must say and from the beginning of the tournament they knew they had to win their matches and they won all of their games. They did excellent.”
Speaking further, he advised the players to remain focused and be wary of dubious agents out to cheat them:
“they need to be careful. The problem with Nigerian football is partly caused by agents. The agents are dubious sometimes. They are dubious. These agents will make a lot of noise about them saying I want to take you to here or there.
“The boys need to be focused. They need to be careful of these agents because after most of these U-17 World cup out boys are no where to be found in senior teams. They are gone and I keep on asking myself what is happening.
“They start fine but at the end they just disappear and you won’t see them anymore. My concern is that they must get where they are going to have playing time week in and week out,”he added.

Garba Lawal

Reacting to the over-age allegations made against the team by some people, Garba Lawal said we cannot entirely rely on the MRI Scan because it is not reliable:
“You can not talk of overage now because they did MRI. But the MRI is actually the problem. Maybe I am 30 and I passed the MRI. Yes, it happens so many times.”
“So the machine is not useful that much any longer. It is the player and his parents that can tell a player’s true age not the machines. We know the truth.
“I tell you if I come in as an overage player and that tell you my age is 16, there is nothing you can do. So we have to be careful about that so that we don’t blame the players but also the machine.

LMC Slaps Heavy Fine On Giwa FC, 2 Players

The Two players of Giwa FC of Jos have felt the wrath of the League Management Company (LMC) following their unruly nature in a game against Nasarawa United.
The players, Amos Gyang and Nojeem Raji, had on separate occasions refused to retire to the dressing room after being expelled for their violent behaviours.

Nojeem Raji of GIWA FC

Amos Gyang of GIWA FC

Gyang was fined 50,000 Naira for his misconduct and suspended for two matches, while Raji was banned for six matches for punching the referee in the face amid protests by his teammates, Africanfootball.com reports
The LMC also sanctioned the club for abandoning Week 38 game of the Nigeria league in Lafia against Nasarawa United.

Giwa FC refused to continue with the game in 34th minute, forcing referee Ibrahim Ishaku to call off the match at the expiration of the first half.

Stated in LMC’s rules and regulations, the unruly behaviour from the player is against article 13.26 of the Framework and Rules of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Jos based team were fined N3million, a deduction of three points and forfeiture of three points and three goals to Nasarawa United for the abandoned Week 38 match.
The club and the players now have 48 hours to either accept the decisions of the LMC or opt for an appearance before a panel.
Giwa finished fifth on the log in the just concluded season and narrowly missed out on a confederation cup ticket.

NNPC Pipeline Explodes In Warri

Reports just reaching Thatnaija.blogspot.com have that a pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Warri main town, Delta state, has exploded resulting in a massive inferno that appears to be burning uncontrollably.

The scene of the pipeline explosion
The cause of the fire which erupted close to the Mammy Barracks, not far from a shopping mall in the area has not yet been ascertained. Our correspondent at the scene reports that the fire fighters who arrived to battle the inferno are just watching helplessly saying they can do little or nothing to put out the fire.

The difficulties faced by the authorities in controlling the flame follows from the fact that the explosion erupted from three spots in the pipeline and extends to about two kilometres into the bush. As at the time of filing in this report, the fire was still burning uncontrollably.

Most pipeline explosions in time past have been blamed on the activities of oil thieves. Just yesterday suspected illegal oil bunkers engaged soldiers attached to Operation Messa in gun battle at 4th Avenue, Festac area of Lagos state.
The newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral I.E. Ibas, has vowed to use all the available resources at his disposal to confront crude oil thieves and other criminals in the maritime sector of the country.

Indivisibility Of Nigeria: MASSOB Counters Buhari

Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has disagreed with President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement, in which he claimed that Nigeria is indivisible.
The movement also expressed its assurance that the United Nations would conduct a referendum for Biafrans to decide on the popularity and acceptance of their cause.
Vanguard reports that Uchenna Madu, MASSOB’s national director of information, made a statement on Tuesday, November 17, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
According to the movement, President Buhari himself is promoting division with his recent appointments, adding that “oneness of Nigeria is now a thing of the past”.
“In the last six months of President Buhari’s administration, he has not hidden his hatred for the South East. Even his northern brothers are supporting him and have refused to call him to order over, the type of marginalization the South East has been witnessing in the past six months of his administration or thereabouts.

Few weeks after being cleaned up and transformed, Raggae legend, Majek Fashekwho is just finally getting rehabilitated from drug and alcohol abuse is asking the Government to lay more emphasis on rehabilitation of mental health patients.

Speaking at the 46th Annual General Conference and Scientific Meeting of the Association of Psychiatrists in Nigeria (APN) in Lagos, themed ‘Mental Health as a Driver for Positive Change’:
“Mental health is not a yardstick to look down upon people. There is need to create a system to manage or rehabilitate people who are not mentally balanced and as well create more awareness on mental health challenges and appropriate management. Government should look into how to rehabilitate mental health patients as most of them have great potentials and talents,’ he said.

Presidential jets: Buhari spent only N2b not N6b for maintenance -Presidency

ABUJA – The presidency has vehemently refuted the reports in several quarters that a huge sum of N6b had been lavished on the Maintenance of presidential Air fleet (PAF) in the last 6 months.
The presidency spoke through the Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Shehu in a statement said that only N2.3b had been spent contrary to the figures making the rounds.
He regretted that the president has had to be distracted by some “fictional report”, which he had “caused the government a lot of negative reviews especially in the online media”.
The statement further stated thus: “The government is focused on solving the many major issues our country faces in the areas of the economy, corruption and security. Yet almost every week, the Presidency has to also deal with the distractions which do nothing but distract from the task of government.
“Referring to documents he had requested from the Operational Office of the Presidential Fleet after his attention was drawn to the speculative report, Malam Shehu pointed out that the sum of N2.3 billion was released to the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) by the office of the Accountant General of the Federation between May and November 2015. This includes releases for personnel cost, overhead and capital expenditure out of the sum of N5,190,381,386.00 appropriated for PAF on the 2015 budget.
“The documents also showed that the sum of N2,127,103,086.66 had so far been expended, leaving a balance of N172,568,912.34 from the amount released.
“However, the sum of N149,062,791.12 was transferred from the PAG’s operation account to the Treasury Single Account, following the President’s recent directive,” he said.
“He added that the sum of N23,801,122.17 remains unutilised out of the funds so far released. During the period 31 May 2015 till date, the Fleet expended the sum of N1,358,910,962.75 to settle outstanding liabilities carried over from last year till May 2015. Furthermore, the sum of N500 million was refunded to the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA for financial support rendered to the Fleet prior to release of funds from the OAGF.
“Thus, the Fleet expended the sum of N449,081,037.25 within the last months comprising N98,500,218.00 for operations, N165,373,176.91 on training and N85,500,116.75 on personnel medicals and overhead. Additionally, the sum of N99,715,493.51 was expended on aircraft maintenance, spares, and subscription services required for operations.
“Any of these documents could have been made available had the newspaper reached out to me or to any one of my colleagues. The damage to the image of government and the good management of the Presidential Air Fleet could have been avoided”.
“Shehu also pointed that the number of aircrafts on the Presidential fleet was 10, not 14 as being bandied about, even as he gave the inventory of the planes to include:
PAF-AIRCRAFT INVENTORY
1. 1× 737 BBJ
2. 1× G550
3. 1× G500
4. 2× Falcon 7X
5. 1× HS 4000
6. 2× Agusta139
7. 2× Agusta 101
Total aircraft holdings 10.”

Enough is enough, GOC warns Biafra agitators

Enugu – The 82 Division of the Nigerian Army has warned agitators for Biafra that they are now crossing the red line and that its officers and men are battle-ready.
The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) the division, Brig.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, told newsmen in Enugu that the army would not fold its hands while such persons destroyed lives and property in the country.
“The warning to the agitators is to tell them that enough is enough,’’ Attahiru said, adding that it was inexcusable for troops to stand aside and watch the security situation deteriorate, leading to loss of lives or damage to peoperty.
“The Nigerian Army would like to send an unequivocal warning to all and sundry, more specifically to all those threatening and agitating for the dismemberment of the country, committing treasonable felony and arson.
“Once deployed, the Nigerian Army shall apply the rules of engagement to the letter in order for peace to prevail,’’ he said.
He noted that the agitators had recorded cases of lawlessness in Aba, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Abakaliki and Enugu.
Attahiru said that the army took its time to adopt the present stand, saying that it was the primary duty of the police to maintain certain levels of security in the country.

UEFA EURO 2016 Prel. Comp. Sweden, Ukraine complete Euro line-up

Swedenand Ukrainebecame the last two qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2016 after eliminating Denmarkand Sloveniarespectively in Tuesday's play-offs.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace as Swedenbeat their Scandinavian neighbours 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw in Copenhagen.
Ukraineheld on after conceding an early goal to veteran centre-back Bostjan Cesar before an equaliser deep into injury time by Andriy Yarmolenko saw them complete a 3-1 aggregate victory.
After Republic of Ireland beat Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday and Hungary ousted Norway the day before, all 24 teams for next year's finals in France are now known.
Ibrahimovic was the star as Swedencompleted a victory over Denmarkthat was more comfortable than the final scoreline suggested. "It was great to do this here in Denmark," said Ibrahimovic, who had been rumoured to be on the brink of retiring from the international game had his side failed to progress.
"With the idea that this was supposed to be my retirement, I've pushed all their countries into retirement. If I have to finish with a Euros, then that's destiny. Thanks for all the support and see you in France. There's still a few months (before it begins) but we'll be there."
He opened the scoring on 19 minutes with a delicate finish from Kim Kallstrom's corner. It was a second vital contribution from Kallstrom in the early stages having diverted a goalbound effort from Denmarkonto the bar as early as the eighth minute.
Ibrahimovic settled the affair 14 minutes from time with a stunning free-kick from distance that meant Denmarkwould now need to score an improbable four times to reach the Euros. The hosts, who had eliminated Swedenfrom the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ play-offs six years ago, didn't give up and pulled back late goals from Yussuf Poulsen and Jannik Vestergaard, but they nonetheless came up well short.
That was a second successive failure to qualify for a major finals and Denmark's veteran coach Morten Olsen subsequently decided to call it a day after 15 years at the national team's helm. "I've told the players that the Federation and I have agreed that it would make no sense for me to continue," said the 66-year-old, who previously won titles with Brondby in Denmarkand Ajax in the Netherlands.
"The last few months have been frustrating. I couldn't find consistency either in our performances or our line-up. I take full responsibility."
Ukrainejoy as play-off agony ends
Ukrainewere aiming to avoid an unprecedented sixth straight play-off elimination across the World Cup and Euros together in their match in Maribor.
And there was a daunting portent when Cesar opened the scoring for the hosts on 11 minutes.
Ukrainestill led 2-1 on aggregate having won the first leg 2-0 in Kiev and after Slovenia's Miso Brecko was sent off a minute into time added on, Yarmolenko sealed Ukraine's progress with an equaliser seven minutes into injury time.

Argentina, Brazil back on track, Chile crash

Argentina and Brazil reignited their 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ qualifying campaigns with important victories on Tuesday as Copa America champions Chile crashed to defeat in their grudge match with Uruguay.
Two-time World Cup winners Argentina - who had taken just two points from their first three matches - claimed their first win, downing Colombia 1-0 in Barranquilla thanks to a first half goal from Lucas Biglia.
Brazil meanwhile produced their best performance of the qualifying campaign to date with a 3-0 defeat of Peru in Salvador. Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa scored one goal and created two others as Brazil swept aside the challenge of the Copa America semi-finalists.
In Montevideo, Uruguay gained revenge for their stormy Copa America quarter-final defeat to Chile earlier this year with a 3-0 win. The victory pushed Uruguay up to second place in the standings with nine points from four games, three points adrift of surprise early pacesetters Ecuador, who made it four wins out of four on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Venezuela.
Brazil's victory over Peru left them in third place with seven points, ahead of Paraguay and Chile on goal difference. Argentina's win in Colombia lifted them to sixth, just outside the top five qualifying spots.

Argentina confident
But the Argentinians will feel confident that they can mount a charge back up the table when qualifiers resume in March, when injured stars Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez should all be fit and available once more. The pressure on coach Gerardo Martino was eased by Biglia's 19th-minute goal, the Lazio midfielder tapping in after Cristian Zapata failed to deal with Ezequiel Lavezzi's low cross.
"We deserved to win, it is fair. We could have scored another goal," said Martino, who said his happiness was more for his players than for himself.
Five-time champions Brazil had a virtuoso performance from Costa to thank for their win. The Bayern star opened the scoring with a tap-in on 22 minutes from Willian's low cross and then turned provider with a jinking run and pass for Renato Augusto for Brazil's second on 57 minutes. Brazil's third came when Costa's fierce strike was parried away by Peru keeper Diego Penny, leaving a simple finish for Filipe Luis on the rebound.
Revenge for Uruguay
In Montevideo, all eyes were on Chile defender Gonzalo Jara and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani as the two men lined up against each other for the first time since their infamous clash in the Copa America in June.
On that occasion Cavani was sent off after lashing out at Jara when the Chilean defender attempted to poke a finger into the Uruguayan striker's backside. Jara was later banned for three matches over the incident.
The lingering tension from that encounter was evident in an ill-tempered game at the Centenario and threatened to boil over around the 20-minute mark. Amid jawing and gesturing between the teams Uruguay were awarded a free-kick and captain Diego Godin slotted home the opener from the set-piece in the 23rd minute.
Things settled down in the second half. But Chile's efforts to find an equaliser were thwarted and two quick goals from Alvaro Pereira in the 61st and Martin Caceres in the 65th saw Uruguay hand Chile their first defeat of the campaign.
To compound Chile's misery, midfielder Jorge Valdivia was shown a red card after the final whistle, apparently for remarks to the referee, who also issued seven yellow cards.
Ecuador meanwhile lead the standings after extending their 100 per cent record against Venezuela in Puerto Ordaz - Venezuela's fourth defeat in as many games. Goals from Fidel Martinez, Jefferson Montero and Felipe Caicedo lifted Ecuador, who exploited a porous Venezuelan defence.
In the day's other game, Paraguay defeated Bolivia 2-1 in Asuncion.

Brain wrinkle linked to hallucinations

Scientists say a particular fold at the front of the brain tends to be shorter in those schizophrenia patients who experience hallucinations.

US & Canada Bobby Jindal drops out of the race for US president

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has dropped out of the race for the US presidency after struggling for months to gain traction amid a sprawling field of Republican candidates.
Although he showed some strength in the early voting state of Iowa, the 44-year-old governor consistently performed poorly in national polls.
He was shut out of the main Republican debates, relegated to secondary stages.
"This is not my time," Governor Jindal said on Tuesday.
The Oxford-educated son of Indian immigrants added diversity to the Republican field, which includes African-American neurosurgeon Ben Carson and businesswoman Carly Fiorina.
However, Governor Jindal sought to distance himselffrom his Indian heritage during the campaign.
"We are not Indian-Americans, African-Americans, Irish-Americans, rich Americans, or poor Americans. We are all Americans," he told supporters when he launched his campaign in June.

Iraqi-Kurdish leader says Paris attacks a 'wake-up call'

The head of intelligence and security in Iraqi Kurdistan has said he hopes last Friday's attacks in Paris will act as a wake-up call to Western powers.
Masrour Barzani told the BBC that the Islamic State group (IS) could be defeated within months if the world community became fully engaged.
He was speaking after Kurdish forces drove IS out of the strategic Iraqi town of Sinjar.
IS still controls large areas of Syria and Iraq.
Speaking at a command headquarters near the Sinjar front, Mr Barzani told the BBC's Jim Muir that despite setbacks, IS had not been significantly weakened.
And he said he hoped that the attacks in Paris, in which 129 people died, would be a game changer, spurring Western powers to become more involved in fighting the militants.
"It's very difficult to say that Isis (IS) has weakened. They might be losing some ground here and there, but to terrorise of course they are using different methods," he said.
"I think this is probably a change of tactics. They might try to do more of this if they are not stopped and they are not kept under pressure."
Mr Barzani said that if Western countries were unwilling to send in ground troops, they should give greater support to forces such as the Kurdish fighters in both Iraq and Syria who were succeeding against the militants.
However, he conceded that the Kurds were reluctant to push into territory that they don't regard as their own.
Our correspondent says the US-led coalition, which has been bombing IS in Syria and Iraq for more than a year, has had problems finding reliable ground forces to partner with.
Russia, which is an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, recently launched its own air campaign against militants.
Since the attacks in Paris, which were claimed by Islamic State, France and Russia have intensified air strikes against IS targets in Syria.
French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is expected to arrive in the region this week.

Plan to prosecute top NYS officials is a ploy to shield Waiguru, says Raila

Opposition leader wants international firm to audit NYS money trail and name real beneficiaries

Cord leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday declared the prosecution of Devolution Principal Secretary Peter Mangiti as an attempt by the Jubilee administration to cover up for the beneficiaries of corruption at the National Youth Service.
Mr Odinga’s protest came as police summoned Mr Mangiti and NYS Director-General Nelson Githinji to appear before the Banking Fraud Investigations Unit for final interrogation before they are arraigned in court.
Dr Githinji announced on Monday night that he had stepped aside from the position to clear his name.
Mr Odinga, in a statement issued from London, said that the speedy decision to prosecute Mr Mangiti and Dr Githinji was a cover up for the highest beneficiaries of the Sh695 million scandal.
UNTOUCHABLE
“I believe Peter Mangiti and Nelson Githinji are not alone in whatever they are accused of doing. They are just but the apostles of the High Priestess of corruption in Kenya, whom, for some mysterious reasons, the Jubilee regime is determined to protect at all costs,” the Cord leader said.
Mr Odinga has in the past sharply criticised the way the government has handled the loss of Sh791 million at NYS and the conspiracy to scheme another Sh695 million and has on several occasions demanded the suspension of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru, who he claims, is being protected by State House.
On Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta told Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter to stop antagonising Ms Waiguru.
Mr Keter has been seeking to table a Motion to impeach Ms Waiguru over corruption allegations at NYS.
AUDIT NYS TENDERS
On Tuesday, Mr Odinga demanded that an international audit firm be appointed to examine all the tenders that have been awarded by NYS since 2013 and unearth the money trail to trace the beneficiaries of the scandals.
“The only way the government can convince Kenyans that it is genuine in its anti-corruption drive on this NYS saga is by appointing an independent international audit firm to look into the transactions and accounts of NYS and all the tender procurement and payment since April 2013 and assign responsibility,” he said.
“The firm must be instructed to follow the money trail and unearth the real beneficiaries of these payments. The report of the firm should be made public and submitted simultaneously to both the President and Parliament.”
If the government fails to appoint an international audit firm, it would be taken as proof that it was covering up and protecting the beneficiaries, he said.

Biafra: Army to apply rules of engagement (ROE)

Lagos – The Nigerian Army on Monday said it would apply its rules of engagement (ROE) to the letter as it unequivocally warned people agitating for and threatening the dismemberment of the country.
Maj.-Gen. Isidore Edet, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division of the army, gave the warning while speaking with journalists at the Officers Mess in Lagos.
Isidore said the Nigerian Army would like to send an unequivocal warning to all and sundry and more specifically, to all those threatening and agitating for the dismemberment of the country.
“Committing treasonable felony and arson, as well as wanton destruction of lives and properties that once deployed, we shall apply the ROE to the letter.
“It is, however, hoped that such circumstances would not arise that we should deploy such operations.
“Let nobody make any mistake because within the ambit of the law, we shall apply the ROE to the fullest,’’’ he said.
“The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN), 1999 (as amended) vide Sect 217 (2) (c) provides that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) shall suppress insurrection and act in aid of civil authority to restore order when called upon to do so by the President and Commander-in-Chief.
“This provision is reinforced by Sect (8) (1) and (3) of the Armed Forces Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, (LFN) 2004.
“This presupposes that troops have to use necessary force to quell crisis resulting in deaths, injury and damages to property,’’ he said.
The GOC also said that consequent upon the observed shortcomings, especially negligence and outright ignorance displayed by troops deployed for Operation MESA and other Internal Security (IS) Operations.
“It is necessary to remind all about the Nigerian Army’s ROE and Code of Conduct for such operations in aid of civil authority for public knowledge and understanding.
“The ROE and Code of Conduct set out the circumstances and limitations under which armed force may be applied to achieve military objectives in furtherance of government policy within Operation MESA and other IS Operations.
“Once deployed on any IS operations, it is the duty of an officer or soldier to ensure the enforcement of law and order in conjunction with other security agencies.
“It is inexcusable for troops to stand aside and watch the security situation deteriorate leading to loss of lives or damage to property without intervening.
“Such intervention should, however, be based strictly on sound judgment,’’ Isidore said.
The GOC also said that officers and soldiers had been warned not to take sides in any conflict, adding that those found wanting would face the consequences of their actions.
“Any officer or soldier found aiding or abetting any act of arson, vandalism or unprofessional conduct, would be severely dealt with according to extant laws,’’ he said.
While talking about the Boko Haram insurgency, the GOC assured residents of Lagos State that the army was working round the clock to monitor and protect them.

He added that some arrests had been made which, he said, could not be disclosed.
“We cannot disclose the details yet but we are working round the clock to ensure that Boko Haram does not have a safe haven in Lagos or southwest or any part of the country.
“There is no cause for alarm and there is no need for Lagosians to fear,’’ he said.

Stop Using French Flag As Profile Picture, It’s An Act Of Slavery – Reno Omokri

Author and TV host, Reno Omokri, has condemned the Paris attacks while urging Africans and Asians to set themselves free from mental slavery.
The former media aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, said it is a display of low self esteem for Africans and Asians to put French flags on their profile as a result of the Paris attacks when they do not put their own nation’s flag on their profile when terrorists attack their own nations.
“Terrorism is evil and condemnable. But we should not only cry when it happens in rich nations. We should treat it the same wherever it occurs. I sympathize with France, but why are Africans and Asians putting French flags on their profile when they do not put their own nation’s flag on their profile when terrorists attack their own nations? Are French lives more precious than their own brothers and sisters who are killed daily by home grown terrorists like the satanic Boko Haram and Al Shabab,” he queried.
The New Media savvy preacher, added that Africans and Asians should stop worshiping the Europeans.
“Africans and Asians should remember the words of Bob Marley and “emancipate yourself from mental slavery”. Terrorism is bad everywhere and not just in Paris. In every area of our lives we exhibit this low self esteem. We celebrate and worship European soccer and denigrate our own leagues.
Now we sympathize with European victims of terror and are indifferent to our own victims. In Nigeria there are 1.5 million citizens displaced by terror. Cry for them first my brothers and sisters,” he said on his Facebook post.
The flag of France has adorned Facebook profile of many across the world in solidarity with France over the Paris attacks.

Driver Flees With Company’s Car After N25,000 Deductions From His Salary (Photo)

One Godwin Eneche, a driver with Cerendry Solutions has been apprehended by the Lagos state police command for absconding with a Hilux car belonging to the company.
Eneche told pressmen that he left with the car in order to sell it due to the unjust deduction of N25, 000 from his salary by the company.
The culprit added that he had driven the Hilux to Maraba Rido area in Kaduna state where he met a buyer who was willing to buy it with the sum of N800, 000 before his arrest in October.
“After finishing my secondary school education, I got a job as a driver with Cerendry Solutions on Victoria Island. I have worked with them for a number of years.
“In June 2015, I had an accident. It was not my fault. A reckless driver had brushed the vehicle and it needed repairs. My supervisor, who was also there, said the man should not pay for the damage, and he left.
“But when I returned to the office, they deducted money from my salary. My supervisor did not plead with the management on my behalf. They deducted about N25, 500. I felt cheated.
“So, I escaped with the Hilux in October. I then took it to my family house in Abuja, and told my uncle what had happened. He was afraid. So I moved on to Kaduna.
I was in the Maraba Rido area. I was using the vehicle to convey tomatoes and pepper. I was also looking for buyers.
“One of the prospective buyers was one Alhaji, who wanted to buy the van for N800,000. That was on October 29. But I was arrested on October 30.
I was arrested in Kaduna and driven to Lagos. But if I secure my release, I will not go back to crime. This is my first time of being arrested by the police,” he narrated.
According to the police, the case of conspiracy and stealing was reported by one of the executives of the company, Mrs. Salamat, to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni said, the case is still under investigation and if the culprit is found guilty, he will be dealt with according to the law.

31 Goals 5 Assists Arsenal Target Set To Join Chelsea As Doubt Grows On Diego Costa’s Fitness

Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on last season’s Ligue 1 top scorer Alexandre Lacazette following unimpressive performances from Diego Costa and Loic Remy.
Costa was Chelsea’s top scorer last season with 20 goals but the Spanish international is far from reaching his milestone of last season following his unimpressive performances in the league.
Costa has scored just twice in the league so far and he seems more interested in starting fights rather than bagging goals.
Reports suggests that Chelsea are considering selling Costa due to him underperforming this season and Lacazette is one of the players on their shortlist to come in as a replacement for Costa.
Although Lacazette hasn’t been at his best this season, he bagged a hat-trick against Saint-Etienne before the start of the international break.
Chelsea are also rumored to be in the market for Javier Hernandez as well as Aleix Texieria, with the Blues keen on bolstering their attacking options in January in a bid to turn their torrid season around.
The Blues are just 3 points above the relegation zone and a loss to Norwich in their next premier league fixture could see them drop down into the relegation zone.

Kanu’s Family Joins Pro-Biafra Protest

The family members of the detained Radio Biafra director Nnamdi Kanu joined a protest organised by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOD) in Umuahia, the capital of Abia state.

Kanu’s sister joined a protest in his home state
The protestors started from Port Harcourt on November 15 with IPOD activists walking to Aba and then Umuahia. As they trekked to Aba, the number increased.
On getting to Ubakala, close to Umuahia, the group was stopped by security personnel who attempted to disperse them but failed.
The protesters passed the night at Ubakala, where they were joined by Kanu’s mother, Ugo Eze Sally Nnenne Kanu, and sister, Princess Chichi Kanu, at 5.30am yesterday.

Lolo Kanu, the mother of the detained leader with other members of the royal family, joined the activists in Umuahia city, the home town of Nnamdi Kanu.
Trekking together with the Biafra supporters, she continuously called for the release of her son who is still being held by the DSS.
However, Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia state, cautioned the pro-Biafra protestors seeking the release of their leader and the creation of Biafra state against disrupting the peace in the state capital.

The activists paraded through the main streets of the city under the watch of security operatives who followed them from place to place. They went to Isi Court, in Umuahia South, Old Umuahia Road, Aba Road, Umuwaya Road, Isi Gate, Bende Road, Enugu Road and Ama Hausa, among other places.
Before dispersing, the pro-Biafra agitators said they would meet again to continue the protest, which is expected to last for three days.
IPOD supporters have been protesting in main cities in the south-east and south-south demanding Kanu’s immediate release. He was arrested in October.
President Muhammadu Buhari has finally reacted to the pro-Biafra protests, stating that Nigeria remains an indivisible nation with the citizens pushing for a common interest.

Father Mbaka Speaks Out On Biafra

Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, the catholic priest from Enugu, has reacted to the recent upsurge of the agitation and demonstrations for Baifra state. The man of God in a sermon at his weekly Adoration Ministry criticized Biafra supporters, defining them as ‘evil’.
Mbaka advised youths in the South East and South-South to go back to their business as the protest could lead to their death.
He said:“Locking up your shops and disrupting economic activities will not add any naira to your pocket, whatever grievance you have could be resolved through dialogue.’’The cleric lambasted those chieftains that were behind the demonstrations saying that they should use their children for the fight.
However, Father Mbaka praised President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing ministers from the zone and allocating them with good portfolios.
“President Buhari’s action has proven that the South East has not been marginalized. I would have reacted if no minister emerged from the zone,’’ he said.
The prophet described the recent free health screening initiative by the president’s wife Aisha Buhari in Enugu as love for the people of the region.
Mbaka accused the Igbo leaders of not living up to the expectation of the people in the area, continuing that former governors, National Assembly members failed deplorably in discharging their mandates.“President Buhari is not the cause of poor roads, unemployment and other decay infrastructures in the south east, we should blame our leaders.
“Most of the roads had been awarded but our leaders squandered the fund, even the university teaching hospital in Enugu is a no-go-area and our leaders are not concerned about it,” reverend father said.
Meanwhile, he advised Nigerians to be patient with the leader of the nation as he had good plans for the country.
On the New Year evethe man of God issued a message“From Goodluck to Badluck,” that became a major talking point during the election campaign.
Father Mbaka has predicted failure for the second bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Now Yoruba's Are Tired Of Igbos. Please Igbos Leave Nigeria.

Preliminarily, I thank God that my work on this board for years is now coming to fruition as my Yoruba brothers now see the folly of accommodating the igbos any further and are now aware of the enemy whose very existence depends on migration to Yoruba land.
I won't waste any time in passing my message. My submission is that we yorubas hate you igbos too and we want you out of SOUTHWEST and by extension all of Nigeria. Igbos are now the butt of jokes everywhere serious people converge. We Yoruba youths can't wait for Biafra to materialise so you can get out of our lands willy nilly. When I see any Igbo, I pity them because all I see is a biafran who has no place or voice in Nigeria.
Yoruba's are watching silently the whole Biafra struggle and we want you to succeed because we loath every about the Igbo and we crave the sanity of our land. Hausa's can be reasoned with but not the igbos, we are tired of the Igbo and we want you out, heck we won't mind if you leave this very minute because all you bring to the table is crime and unhealthy rivalry.
As you can all see, the President, Yoruba leaders and Hausa leader are mute on the show of shame taking place in the east because we all can't be bothered with a defeated tribe who can't stomach the fact that they have been defeated on all fronts and consequently are now second class citizens. We want all igbos to move back to alaigbo including the clowns in Abuja who are mere onlookers at serious decision making organs of government.
We have restated it to the point of sounding like broken records that we can't be bothered by the igbos and we stand with Muhammedu Buhari in his mandate to rebuild Nigeria, igbos can go to hell, that is what we want anyway because they are inconsequential.
In conclusion, I salute my able governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for shutting the Igbo out of Lagos state Exco, we can't have hateful and jealous people on board in Lagos. We really don't care if you can't perform as much as Fashola, as far as you give it hard to the biafrans, we would vote you for a second term. Heck, we won't mind you deporting some more of this hapless biafrans.
We salute the visionary jagaban of borgu who has imbibed all the ideals and ethos of the reverred Awo and we Yoruba youths with all the education are ready to formulate more policies that will subject the igbos to slavery right from the wombs of their mothers.

Biafra: PDP Cautions Buhari, APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is deeply concerned about the unfolding political events and developments in the South East and South South of Nigeria.
The PDP also stated that it is not comfortable with the methods being applied by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government in handling of restive youths in the South South and South East geo-political zones, who are agitating under the Biafra movement, and urged the President to personally intervene as the matter affects the territorial integrity of Nigeria.
The party said it is concerned that the Federal Government and its agencies have failed to approach the situation with the inclusiveness and seriousness it deserves, but have instead been resorting to the use of security forces.
PDP National Youth Leader, Hon. Abdullahi MaiBasira said in a statement on Saturday that President Buhari and his party should be held to account for the escalation of the agitation, which threatens the unity and national security interests of Nigeria as an indivisible entity.
The PDP also urged the ruling party to ensure and guarantee an inclusive administration that will promote harmony among all sections of the country.
The party further notes the seemingly lack of any clear-cut policy direction that concerns the development, mainstreaming and inclusion of young people in the country by the Federal Government, a worrisome issue that brings to question APC’s campaign promise to generate and give 3 million jobs annually to Nigerian Youths.
“The fact that none of the President’s ministerial appointees confirmed by Senate is below 40 years also puts to question APC’s belief for the next generation of leaders, mentorship and transfer of responsibility. So far, the resultant effect of this lack of clear-cut policy is the stagnation of the economy and laying-off of thousands of people from their jobs.
“Rather than the use of force as an option which usually fails as a solution in this type of self inflicted socio political problem, President Buhari should as a matter of national interest and practical necessity, make haste to call representatives and leaders of the South East for discussions before the situation deteriorates”, the party said.
The PDP said President Buhari and his party should know that sidelining any section of the country is bound to generate unhealthy relations among all integral parts of the Nigerian people.
The party said that cohesion, development, prosperity and unity should be paramount in government policy and warned that unless and until all sections of the country are accommodated, certain sections will experience civil tension and agitations as a means of expressing their discontent.
“Finally, as young people who believe in the present and future stability of Nigeria; we urge President Buhari to see himself as the father of the nation and try to open his heart to all by carrying everybody along and through that, create enabling environment for peace, progress and development in the interest of all”, the statement said.
