Despite the attack, President Buhari has said the end of Boko Haram insurgency is near, Punch reports.

The defeat of Boko Haram insurgency is in sight but to remove violence and make the country safe, we must tackle the prevalence of violent extremism. In doing this, we will learn from the experience of the international community,” the President said.

This was disclosed in a statement by Garba Shehu, his senior special assistant on media and publicity.

Though no group has claimed responsibility for the October 2 attacks, it is believed to have been perpetuated by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
